ATTY. MARY NOVE V. PATANGAN

 

Atty. Mary Nove V. Patangan earned her Juris Doctor from Andres Bonifacio College – School of Law (ABC-SOL), Dipolog City, Philippines. She graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Communication Arts, major in Speech and Corporate Communications, from the University of the Philippines Mindanao, Davao City. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in February 2026.

Atty. Patangan has been serving as a Legal Officer at QRTIGER CORP., a BPO company based in Dipolog City, for nearly three years. In her role, she works closely with in-house counsel and management on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and contract negotiations, including SaaS agreements, supplier and vendor contracts, and other commercial transactions.

She was also a Legal Intern at the Office of the Solicitor General of the Philippines, where she worked under the supervision of Assistant Solicitor General Sonny Von N. Ruaya and state solicitors. She assisted in drafting appellate briefs and conducting extensive legal research, further strengthening her analytical and legal writing skills.

During law school, she represented her institution as an Oralist in the 2023 Southeast Asia Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition. She also competed in the 2023 and 2024 UC–Konrad Adenauer-Stiftung Environmental Moot Court Competition, earning distinctions including 3rd Overall Best Memorial, 2nd Overall Best Memorial, 1st Runner-up in the Oral Rounds, and 5th Best Oralist. Committed to both scholarship and service, she served as Associate Editor of the Bonifacio Law Journal (SY 2023–2024) and as Governor of the Law Student Council (SY 2022–2023).

She was also one of the pioneer Law Student Practitioners who contributed to the drafting of a landmark local environmental ordinance entitled: “An Ordinance Creating the Pawikan Management Committee and Establishing Interaction Zones for Marine Sea Turtles (Pawikan), Prescribing the Rules and Regulations Governing Pawikan Interaction During Nesting and Hatching Season and the Management of Threats in the City of Dipolog, Providing Penalties for Violations Thereof, and for Other Purposes.” Her involvement in this initiative reflects her commitment to environmental protection, legislative policy work, and community-centered legal advocacy.
